72 Magic Show in 24 Hours To Benefit Breast Cancer Awareness Research
On October 28th, Daniel Lusk will have a stage outside of Steak and Shake on US 36 in Avon indiana and will attempt to do 72 magic shows in 24 hours, all to benefit the fight against Breast Cancer. It will begin at 10am on October 28th and will finish at 10am October 29th . October 28th falls in Breast Cancer Awareness Month and International Magic Week. Magician Daniel Lusk will use the art of magic to raise money and awareness for this worthy cause. Daniel Lusk is a comedy magician who has performed for the NBA, WNBA, many corporations,churches, private parties, and daycare all across the midwest. Where did the idea come from ? " I wanted to do something different", states Lusk. "Well, I see many feats on TV that are based on endurance. Some even done by magicians."Lusk said. "I started wondering if it was possible to combine both endurance and magic. That's where the 72 shows in 24 hours were born." Morgan County Humane Society needs funds to repair Mabel's "Broken" Heart A 3-month-old Puppy
Martinsville, Indiana, October 3, Morgan County Humane Society needs funds to repair Mabel's "broken" heart . Mabel , a three-month -old puppy, won't last one month if she doesn't have life-saving surgery soon to repair her heart, according to the Morgan County Humane Society in Martinsville, Indiana. A 15-pound hound mix, mabel arrived at the Morgan County Humane Society a few weeks ago along with her mom and six other siblings after being abandoned in a rental home. "Mabel's heart was beating rapidly when she first arrived," says Angie Loudermilk, executive director for the humane society. "But I thought she was just a little more stressed than the others". While Mabel eas having her spray surgery, however, the doctor noticed blood leaking from a hole in her heart. Since then, Morgan County Humane Society has been calling cardiologists all over the state to find someone to repair Mabel's heart. According to Loudermilk, veterinarians in Martinsville and Indianapolis don't have the necessary equipment to treat her. "But Purdue University does, "she says and cardiac specialists have agreed to perform this life-saving surgery for only $1,500.00 - a much reduced rate for the Humane Society. " Mabel will die if she doesn't have the surgery soon ", says Loudermilk. "She is on medication right now to keep the fluid from building up in her heart, but if she goes off that medicine, she has troble breathing. We really need to help her as quickly as possible. Morgan County Humane Society is part of the Petsmart Charities Rescue Waggin " has agree to provide a matching grant towards whatever community donations are given for Mabel's surgery. P. J. Fox, 25, who is in IU in Indianapolis, the Cancer Pavillon. he is fighting for his life right now. He has a rare form of cancer, non-Hodgekin lymphoblastic lymphoma. He was diagnosed 2 years ago & has been through a drug induced coma & 9 mos of chemo . He went through a 6 month remission,but the cancer returned a month ago. He has now been through chemo again & is going through radiation now. He is scheduled for a biopsy on Oct 8th to see if he is in remission. If he is in remission, then they have a small window of time to get the transplant done. He will die without this transplant! They have recently has a couple of drives for him at his former high school in Hebron, IN & have found no matches! The fund at the bank is almost depleted. Because there is not much time left, we are now asking for people to donate bone marrow for the National Bone Marrow Registry, at a cost to them of $30.00 per saliva test kit.
